im here to comment on the results of the latest courtesy survey conducted worldwide. abt 21 countries were surveyed i think, and guess wad singapore, we're the 5th most courteous country!!

em. hello?? say please and thank you much, ppl?? like, wad the... how could we have gotten so low?! but then again, im not surprised, considering how many (or little) times i have seen ppl return lost wallets. yea, that was one of the judging criterias.
see, these survey ppl are really cute. they throw out a few dozen wallets out into the four corners of a country, and wait for a fixed period of time to see how many wallets return to them. smart right? except we're not smart enough to see through this joke and actually return the wallets.
another criteria is, they send ppl out onto the streets, and these ppl will be carrying a mountain of papers. then they'll purposefully spill them on the pavement, and go "oh, oh, oh! my papers! someone help me!". and of course, the catch is to see how many passerbys actually stop to help. and once again, we're not smart enough to understand the situation.
last judging criteria is whether shop assistants say thank you to ppl who patronise the shops. excuse me, isnt that basic service courtesy? do we need a survey result to tell us we have been doin poorly in this area?
gosh. obviously yes, because we ended up the bottom few. and who came in first? NEW YORK. (shldnt u be happy now, d?). oh wow. the most chaotic, most complicated, most under terrorist attack city is actually the most courteous place in the world!
whoo! i am just SO surprised. pls. what good issit being the Garden City? what use issit having the Most Beautiful Airport? what use is all these when we dont even know the basic courtesy of being a human??!
honestly, singapore. pls. just wakie wakie. stop being so stuck up and think u're the top of the world. u shld take a step outside every now and then to take a look at the outside world. u're kindda like a frog at the bottom of the well (literally translated from a chinese saying >.<)
anywayy. i was suprised that s.korea is one position behind us, though. i mean, check out the kdramas and their music scene. it's wayy happening k. u wouldnt believe the ppl there are even less courteous than us! and pls, ppl like rain? gosh, they present to us such a good image of korea, but the survey ruined everything. *stupid survey! blarhh!*
sigh... anyway, i believe there are still good and courteous singaporeans around here. and i'll choose to believe the survey ppl chose a bad time to conduct a survey, and happened to pick on the wrong sort of ppl, or maybe they went to the wrong places. u know, like, if you went to orchard road or sth, ppl wont give two hoots abt you and your papers, coz they'll be going "WHOO THE GREAT SINGAPORE SALE~!!".
so yea, survey ppl pls take note. ur results are NOT accurate. i mean, come on, if you tested the survey on my class, gosh, we'll SCORE im telling you.
FOUR-OH-SIX rules yea.
well, anyway, the results have been published, and we singaporeans are at shame now. but no fear, my fellow city mates, we'll just rmb our Ps and Qs from now on.
