", when it reaches the climax, it starts to go down."i'm back,
but sadly not with a lot of updates~
i've just been busy with reports and projects,
going to church, writing, playing the piano.
everyday is so busy.
umm the biggest news i have right now,
is being elected into the church youth grp exco for the rest of this yr till next yr term 4.
the posts are not yet decided yet,
but we are asked to pray abt these positions and think abt what we might want to volunteer for:
1. President
2. Vice pres (the vice pres will automatically be pres for the organisation of youth grp camp next yr, its a tradition like UB ^^)
3. Secetary (umm sp error?? ><")
4. Logistics (in charge of snacks and other such things after every youth grp session)
5. 2 care group leaders (one male, one female; both in charge of welcoming and getting to know newcomers, also responsible for the bonding and overall relationships within the youth grp)
6. 2 games leaders (any gender; both in charge of organising games when it is Potluck Day or Fun Day)
7. 2 praise&worship leaders (any gender; both in charge of scheduling worship leaders and band members each wk; have to call up ppl in charge to make sure everyone involved has the music score sheets)
yepyep so 10 positions altogether~
hmm well i have thought abt it actually,
and i think i will volunteer for either care group or games leader.
if not, praise and worship leader is fine with me too,
just that it'll be a new job!
while im on this topic,
i might as well share my feelings abt the newly elected exco.
to begin with,
there are a lot of ppl i didnt expect to be voted in.
while im happy for them,
its worrying to know i will be working with them for a yr,
because these ppl are.. not fantastically easy to get along with.
looking at the new exco,
i notice that many are either young in faith,
or have no faith at all.
they are good youths,
enthusiastic and bright.
but in terms of a healthy relationship with God,
i think we still have a long way to go.
i admit i am disappointed that the truly faithful ones were not voted in.
an example would be jamie.
despite her young age,
she does her quiet time daily and faithfully,
requesting for prayer support from the family often.
it is disappointing that the youth grp,
being made up of insecure teens unsure of what they want,
are unable to see ppl for who they really are,
but judge based on the surface.
i was discussing this matter with Caren,
the ex-vice pres of the youth grp.
She tells me that it feels like the voting of exco members,
is like a voting for the most popular ppl,
the ones with personality, looks and/or ability,
the ones with large social circle and are on good terms with the previous exco.
i dont know how i fit into any of those categories,
but like last yr,
God has once again given me an opportunity to serve the church
and i intend to do better than what i had done (or not done) in sg.
i am not saying the youth grp voted in any "wrong" ppl.
everyone is entitled the right to serve and lead in church.
there is no one "unsuitable" or "wrong" for the job.
what i meant was,
to truly lead the youth grp into a state of spiritual maturity,
shouldnt the leaders themselves first be the light and salt of God?
shouldnt they first be persistent and faithful in prayer?
rather than continue to moan and rant abt the "wrong" decisions of the youth grp,
i have decided to look at things in perspective,
and use the other exco members as a mirror for myself.
i will learn what shld be learnt from them,
and correct myself accordingly in places i am not yet perfect.
even if the others are a mistake,
i will not let myself be a mistake in God's plans.
Christchurch Chinese Church is a blessed place,
i have heard abt its history and how it started.
it is an inspiring story and i hope to give it all i've got.
my only regret is that i cannot be in Holy Covenant Methodist Church instead.
one can serve anywhere,
but regret is all there is,
if one did not serve her best.
God bless you all in sg,
i pray for you.
